The Art Gallery of Ontario
Moving one staircase is not an easy task so when the Art Gallery of Ontario had several to move they called Earl Paddock. Wig (Rob Wigington) headed up this job, working with Louie Giankos, and Jim Baillie to deliver 22 sections of staircases for the outside of the Gallery building.
All the pieces delivered were oversized, averaging 12’X12’ with the largest piece 14’ x 15’. Earl Paddock Transportation had to handle all the pieces twice as they went from the manufacturer to Bolton to be sandblasted and painted; then they were reloaded and delivered to downtown Toronto. Police escorts plus special permits were required to complete this special delivery.
As you can imagine, pieces this big in downtown Toronto traffic were quite a challenge. Thanks to Wig, Louie and Jim for accomplishing these remarkable deliveries!
